All Stars Reach The Million

The UK Charity Allstars are beyond delighted to announce that the event since its inception in 2008 has passed £1 million in fundraising.

This milestone is a testament to all the hard work and dedication to fundraising that has been put in by every single person who has worn an Allstars jersey in the previous 13 events and those who have supported our Allstars in the stands, at home and corporately.

Over those years, the event has supported a range of charities, from Dreams Come True to Marie Curie, Blue Cross to Help for Heroes, Prostate Cancer UK to Breast Cancer Now, Mind, British Heart Foundation, Sheffield Childrens Hospital to Ty Hafan and now through the Barbarians a host of other charities. Not only has the events fundraising benefited all of our charities, it’s the positive impact and awareness that we are all proud to be able to say has also benefitted everyone.

We asked the organising committee for their thoughts on today’s incredible announcement:

Not sure where to start but after getting involved by accident in 2012 thanks to Hubbs, it’s amazing to see how much the weekend has grown. From seeing the numbers raised in the early days to what’s being hit every year, it’s a testament not only to the players but those who support them every year with their fundraising. I don’t think we ever thought we’d raise over £1million with the event but to do this, it’ll not sink in for a long time but can’t thank everyone enough for their support to be able to achieve this huge milestone. Next milestone, who knows but looking forward to raising a glass with you all in Cardiff to celebrate the achievement. – Geraint Walters

Wow, what an amazing milestone, I am so proud to have been part of the Allstars community. Just a bunch of good people, raising money for great causes and playing the sport they love. Thank you to everyone that has supported our teams, our players, referee’s, volunteers and charities over the last few years, its truly incredible to think what we have achieved.

Here’s to the next milestone! – James Pepper

I joined the Allstars way back in 2011 and I never thought that this event would become as popular as it is today.  I am thrilled that today the UK Allstars reached an incredible milestone, smashing through the ‘ONE MILLION POUND’ barrier raised for charity. Through the unwavering support and generosity of our Hockey community, we have made a profound impact on the lives of countless individuals in need. This remarkable achievement exemplifies the power of collective action and the compassion that resides within our hearts. Each contribution, no matter how big or small, has played a crucial role in making this dream a reality. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the donors, sponsors and players who have selflessly dedicated their time, resources, and efforts towards this cause. Together, we are creating a brighter future and transforming lives one step at a time. As we celebrate this remarkable accomplishment, we remain committed to our mission of making a lasting difference in the world, and we look forward to the incredible possibilities that lie ahead.

Thank You EVERYONE and see you all in Cardiff for a beer or two. – Steve Baker

I am so proud to be part of UK Charity Allstars. I attended the 1st ever Allstars weekend in 2008 and was top penalty box sweet provider. It is amazing how far we have come and to hit the 1 MILLION mark fills me with so much pride. To me now it is a family affair with my husband Jason on Team Stripes and my son Evan playing for Ty Hafan.

Every single player who has ever pulled on a Allstars Jersey, everyone that has volunteered, everyone who has walked into the rinks and bought a ticket and to every single person who has sponsored the event and players please be proud that you have been a part of this journey with us.  Without all of you we cannot have Allstars. You are all ALLSTARS.

What started as a stop gap for some summer hockey is now this movement that I am so excited to be a part of. Allstars restores your faith in humanity. – Kelly Coles

It’s crazy to think that we’ve passed this milestone, but it shows the good that can be achieved when good people come together to do good. We’ve been blessed with so much support from all around the hockey community over the years and now we’re able to celebrate this achievement together and the good work that this will have facilitated to so many different causes. I hope everyone who has been involved over the years can look on today’s news and be proud of the part they played in this news, and I look forward to celebrating this achievement with everyone in Cardiff – David Grant

Where do you start on this news, firstly thank you to everyone that has played a part in reaching this truly amazing landmark. We did not set out in any shape or form with it in mind, it was all to do with trying to do some good. To the committee, Captains, Officials, Sponsors, Clothing partners and Supporters old and new we did some good! See you in Cardiff to celebrate (I might even stay out late one late this time!!!) –  Hubbs

We can’t express our thanks to every single person who has supported this event, and we look forward to joining everyone at the Vindico Arena on the 28th July in celebrating this magnificent achievement alongside the fundraising efforts from the class of 2023.

Thank you.
